We ventured out a few weeks ago to the pumpkin patch. Scott took the day off work so we wouldn't have to deal with the crowds on a weekend (or pay parking :). It was a great plan, and there weren't very many families there. However, there were about 200 screaming, annoying kids from various school groups running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Very litt

le adult supervision going on, and therefore, very few manners being utilized. Kids were yelling and shoving other kids, and while we were on the playground, I had to stop several from slamming into Olivia. That does not make a mommy happy. There was one point where Scott and I just left the 12 foot stacked piles of hay that crazy 10 year old boys were JUMPING off, just because we were afraid we'd be called into action (ie. CPR, calling 911, setting broken bones...). INSANE. Poor Jack wanted to play in this inflatable caterpillar thing, but it was him and a huge group of 12 year old boys going in at the same time. I had to pull the mommy card on that one and say no, but he took it rather well. I remember field trips as a grade schooler, and I was NEVER allowed to behave in the manner that these kids did. I take this as a sign that I am old and that these whipper snappers are the future. shudder...
But I digress. The kiddos had a fabulous time, we packed a yummy lunch, and the hay ride was aw

esome. It was separated form the school groups so we just rode with some normal parents with small children. Livie loves the hay and Jack had an awesome time picking out pumpkins. He kept finding the mos

t "jacked up" pumpkins and claiming them as his own. If it was green, rotting, or horribly disfigured, then it was his kind of pumpkin. We finally settled on one that is rather peanut shaped, but he loves it. I got some good pics and we attempted a family photo, but that of course was disastrous. Someday...
