Today was Jack's 5 year check up. As usual, both kids were complete rock stars for the entire trip, proving once again that my kids are awesome, at least at the doctors ;P
Here are the stats:
Weight 50.5 lbs (92%) Up 7.5 lbs from last year!! Holy smokes! This has to stop sometime right?!?!
Height: 44 3/4 inches (81%) Up 4 inches from last year!! The nurse said "Well, we're not going to have to worry about him being short, eh?". After explaining the height on his Daddy's side of the family, she just grinned and said she can't wait to see what he is next year.
BP: 98/64
HR: 84
Vision: 20/40
Looks like we get to take Jack for a better vision screening soon to see if he really was having trouble seeing, or if he just didn't want to answer. It really could be either! I was trying to see the letters from his distance and I couldn't read a single line, so if he has vision troubles, it's probably my fault! At least he got it honest...
We decided to get the rest of his Kindergarten shots today so that he'll be all ready to go for next year. He also got his first installment of Flumist to hopefully ward off a repeat of last years H1N1 debacle. Because he probably had the virus last year, he needs a double dose for protection this year. I am REALLY hoping that he has more of an immunity built up this year at school, as last year we were at the doctors every other week for months at the beginning of the school year. This is also the main reason we opted out of fall sports, since last year he was sick for most of the practices and games. It's kind of hard to run up and down the field with the croup, you know? We may get him in for a session of swimming, but it depends on when the dates are. I don't want to sign him up for times when we'll be in Disney!
Anyway, he had the Flumist first and then watched as the nurse cleaned his arm and gave him the shot. He literally looked at me, said "ow", and was good as new. He rocks. The nurse was VERY impressed. He also sat incredibly still for his BP check, which again shocked the nurse. I like it when they behave the way I know they can ;)
After the shots were done, Jack asked to go to Yats for lunch. Again, what 5 year old kid wants Cajun food? That would be mine. He and Liv shared some chili cheese etoufee and lemonade. Both were in heaven.
I really love my kids.
